Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using ThreatTree (the "Service") operated by ThreatTree ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptable Use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its related systems.
• Transmit any material that is harmful, offensive, or otherwise objectionable.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
• Use the Service to develop a competing product or service.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@threattree.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

3. Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all threat models, diagrams, and other content ("User Content") you create using the Service. We claim no intellectual property rights over your User Content. You grant us a limited licence to store and process your User Content solely to provide and improve the Service.

4. Free and Paid Plans

The Service is offered on a free tier with usage limits and on paid plans. Plan details, limits, and pricing are available from within your account settings. We reserve the right to modify pricing or plan features with reasonable prior notice.

5. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@threattree.com. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that harms the Service or other users. Upon termination we will delete your User Content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Availability and Changes

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We will not be liable for any downtime or service interruption.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that threat models generated using the Service are complete, accurate, or sufficient for any regulatory or compliance purpose.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ThreatTree shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
